The tradition of homecoming began over a century ago. Although many schools have claimed to be the first to celebrate homecoming, a 1911 football game at the University of Missouri seems to be the originator of modern custom. The University asked all its alumni to come back during the same weekend, to attend a football game. They held a parade for the crowds that attended, a tradition still followed today at many schools. High schools and colleges alike still observe the traditions associated with the homecoming football game – spirited pep rallies, formal dances, and festive parades. At Curran’s Flowers, we have the beautiful formal flowers you’ll need to celebrate your local homecoming weekend in style.
Wristlets are the most popular form of corsage, and come in a wide range of styles. Wristlets are perfect for any young lady attending the dance, for members of the homecoming court, or even for a group of friends who want to collectively show their school spirit at the big game! While Curran’s Flowers has an assortment of pre-designed wristlets, we can also create one that reflects your school colors. One of our most popular choices is this classic piece, which features delicate miniature white roses sure to complement any dress or outfit; arranged on a glittering band of jewels. Also popular are our “slap bracelet” wristlets which will fit on any wrist. Looking for something a little more exotic? We recommend these amazing orchids on a rhinestone band.
Of course, the guys will want to look equally sharp, and they will with one of our classic single rose boutonnieres. Whether wearing a tux, or a suit jacket with jeans – this is an elegant touch that is sure to impress.
