A Basket Of Easter Blooms

Curran's Flowers is pleased to welcome spring, and in particular, Easter. We've got plenty of baskets---even the gift kind---but we're enchanted by the floral designs that our team has blossoming from them. As much as we love the ones filled with Peeps and chocolate bunnies, there's nothing quite like a veritable garden blooming from a basket. Read More about A Basket Of Easter Blooms »

A Rose By Any Other Name

You know the line: "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet," from Shakespeare. Specifically, Romeo and Juliet, possibly the most romantic play of all time. Here at Currans Flowers, we're 100% certain that there is no flower more romantic than the red, red rose. How could there be? With its intricate folds, passionate color, divine scent, and showstopping height, there's simply no flower that brings the drama and shows the love like this one. A Dazzling Secret Santa Gift

Secret Santa is set to be one of our most enduring gift exchange traditions, though it's a fairly new one here in the U.S. Most credit the latest incarnation of the anonymous gift swap to 20th century philanthropist Larry Dean Stewart, who started distributing $100 to people in the Kansas City streets and founded the Society of Secret Santas. But the swap has its roots in an old Scandinavian Christmas custom and appears in German folklore as well. It's enjoyed under different names throughout the West and spawned countless variations here, including online Secret Santa, Thieving Santa, Casino Santa, Conspiracy Santa... We could go on, but our main point here at Currans Flowers is, you're going to need a good gift for it. Read More about A Dazzling Secret Santa Gift »

Gracious Centerpieces for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is but a minute away, but there's still time to grace your table with flowers. The centerpiece is one of our most cherished holiday traditions. Both the cornucopia - an age-old approach to suggesting abundance on one's table - and the centerpiece have a rich history. These days, the two have even been blended in some cases, with flowers spilling out of the horn of plenty instead of fruit. Here at Curran's Flowers we have a variety of blooms for your holiday table, whether you're looking for a traditional centerpiece or want something a little more modern. Gifts for the Givers

Heading to someone else's home for Thanksgiving this year? You're in good company (and will be, we trust). Last year, nearly 50 million people traveled 50 miles or more, over hill and dale, to break bread with family or friends who hosted them for the holiday. If that trend continues, and we here at Currans Flowers suspect it will, that's a lot of people showing up on a lot of doorsteps. And we're here to remind you not to do that empty-handed. Even in these post-Emily Post days, it's customary to offer your host or hostess a gift for their efforts, extending your gratitude and appreciation. We've got two suggestions for how to approach this gift-giving scenario. Read More about Gifts for the Givers »

Celebrating Grandparents Day with Flowers

"Grandma always made you feel she had been waiting to see just you all day and now the day was complete." – Marcy DeMaree There is no denying that grandparents hold a special place in our hearts. Whether they go by Grandma and Grandpa, Meemaw and Pawpaw, Nana and Grandpop - the names do not matter so much as the love and legacy that they add to our lives. National Grandparents Day, established in 1978, is a day set aside to celebrate the stories, the wisdom, and the sense of belonging grandparents offer to their families. With Curran's Flowers, celebrating Grandparents Day is beautiful.  Read More about Celebrating Grandparents Day with Flowers »
